Roland Barthes / The city is a poem, however, it is not a classical poem

Source: l'Architecture d'Aujourd'hui"
#377, april-may, 2010

Published in the "l'Architecture d'Aujourd'hui" issue of December 1970-January 1971, this seminal text on an urban semiology has never appeared elsewhere and is not part of the texts selected for Barthes' complete works. In it, Roland Barthes defines the conditions for the possibility of a semiology of the city and encourages his readers to "multiply their readings of the city" for which, at that time, he states "only writers have given us a few examples".

The lighting from this minimal structure highlights a moment, making the audience almost the center of the spectacle... Very annoying website though.
